Isokinet

The Isomed 2000 can be used as a training and a measurement device. Similar to strength training equipment, like a bench press, it can be used for exercise purposes. In the same way it could be used to measure monoaxial forces created by the human muscles. By adding different adapters this can be done for various muscle groups. A relationship between joint angle and maximum applied torque can be determined. This can be measured for concentric and excentric muscle behavior. For both possibilities isokinetic behavior, to keep movement the speed of the joint constant, is applied by a motor.
